How to apply Conditional Formatting in Microsoft Excel 2010
Conditional formatting allows you to specify how cells that meet a given condition should be displayed. To apply this method, do the following:
1. Select the data that you want to conditionally format.
2. On the [Home] tab, in the [Styles] group, click the arrow next to [Conditional Formatting], and then click [Color Scales].
Note: In a three-color scale, the top color represents higher values, the middle color represents medium values, and the bottom color represents lower values.
The diagram below shows an example of how conditional formatting is applied by using a color scale to differentiate high, medium, and low values.
