How to use KeyTips in Microsoft Word 2010

KeyTips are a great way of using keyboard shortcuts, as they are a constant reminder on screen of what keys you need to press. They appear as small letters and numbers within small square labels called badges on the Ribbon and Quick Access Toolbar. See diagram below:

How to display and use KeyTips:
Example # 1: Aligning text to the center of the page
1. Press [Alt] key
2. Press [H] to activate [Home] tab
3. Press [A] for alignment, then [C] to center.

Example # 2: Aligning text to the left of the page
1. Press [Alt] key
2. Press [H] to activate [Home] tab
3. Press [A] for alignment, then [L] to align to the left.

To cancel the action that you are taking and hide the KeyTips, press and release the [Alt] key.
