Using Format Painter in Microsoft Office Word 2010

[Format Painter] is locatedd under the [Home tab] in the [Clipboard group], and we use it to copy formatting attributes from one text range to another.

  1. Select the formatted text range
  2. Click on [Format Painter]
  3. With the format painter brush select the text range that you want to apply the formatting attributes to.
  4. Upon selection, formatting attributes are applied to the text range
  5. To apply the same formatting attributes to more than one text range, double click on [Format Painter] and then with the brush select the text ranges you want to apply the formatting attributes to.
If you click once on [Format Painter] the brush will apply the formatting attributes, for multi [Format Painter] use then double click on format painter.
